More and more women of all ages in the U.S. Try the vaginal plastic surgery, a cosmetic surgery that used to be practiced only by the porn stars and the medical community observed with suspicion.
This is surgery to tighten the muscles of the vagina (vaginoplasty) or external labia reduction (labiaplasty) that are often done against the opinion of doctors who see no need for such drastic procedures.
Until now, surgery was reserved for sex workers or women who have medical problems like incontinence, congenital malformations or injuries from childbirth.
Improves sexual satisfaction?
A growing number of women who suffer from these problems is betting on what is advertised in magazines around the country as "vaginal rejuvenation" procedures that promise an improvement in sexual satisfaction and the good appearance of more private part.
Leroy Young, chairman of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, recognizes that there is an increasing interest in this procedure.
Young's organization does not yet have statistics on the number of doctors and patients who have undergone the operation, but Young said that there is a growing demand by women of all ages thanks to advertising campaigns clinics throughout the country.
